Configurable processes and tasks
Data is imported, edited and exported with processes in GeolinQ. Processes also import data from external data sources such as databases, WFS or REST. Processes always run in a task manager so that a task logging is available to detect, for example, possible validation errors in an import file or service. Processes are merged by process steps to one process using workflow processes to automate the full process flow.
Import and export processes
Importing data to a dataset and exporting data from a dataset can be done on the basis of different file formats and coordinate systems. The fields of file formats can be linked via an import or export format to the attributes of a dataset in the data model. The configurations of import and export processes can be stored in a data source so that the link via the file format and the dataset only needs to be established once.
Linking with external data sources
Organizations often use data from external data sources such as key registers (GDS), databases, REST, WFS or SOAP services. With GeolinQ it is easy to establish a link with an external data source. GeolinQ automatically takes over the data structure from the external data source and the data from the external data source can be loaded as datasets into GeolinQ. The data in the datasets from the external data source can be further disclosed in GeolinQ in views, maps and services.
Intersection of datasets
Featured datasets can be intersected with each other to create a new intersected dataset. In the intersection process, a source dataset is intersected with other datasets, with the intersections ending up in the target dataset. Attributes of the source dataset and the sliced datasets can be linked to the attributes of the target dataset. For example, it can be determined which municipalities and soil types a railway route crosses.
Grid processes for datasets
Featured datasets can be converted to a grid dataset with the attributes of the feature dataset linked to the attributes of the grid dataset. In the raster process, the raster format and attribute links with aggregation functions are defined so that the raster process can easily be repeated when new source data is available.
Point clouds or grids can be converted to another grid format using interpolation or aggregation processes. The interpolation or aggregation process defines the raster format for the target dataset and the attribute associations between the datasets.
A difference data set or sum data set can be calculated from two raster data sets. With the difference process, for example, the change between two years can be calculated and visualized.
Generation of contours
The contour lines or contour surfaces of a grid dataset or point cloud can be calculated. The contour intervals and the attribute association of the grid data set and target data set are defined in the contour process.
Merge processes with workflow processes
Often an information product is generated with a chain of several processes. Workflow processes can execute a chain of processes in configurable process steps. In this way, the chain of processes is simplified into one workflow process, so that many manual actions and time are saved.
Run processes using the task manager
In the task manager, processes can be started as tasks and the progress of the tasks can be monitored. The job log of a process can be queried to identify possible errors in the process execution. Tasks for processes can be scheduled or run periodically automatically in the task manager. A lot of manual work can be automated with this.
